Comrade Cota is the people’s deejay. An Indigenous revolutionary and African Internationalist, Comrade Cota has been working under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) since 2017 when they joined the International People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement, the APSP’s mass organization. Their primary work is volunteering as the Program Director for the One Africa! One Nation! Marketplace in West Philly, one of over 50 independent economic development institutions of the Uhuru Movement and the longest-standing black community-led flea market in Philly. They organize the annual Uhuru Health Festival and Uhuru Book Fair respectively, which they have been the resident deejay for since 2021 alongside DuiJi13, founder of vinyl enthusiast deejay collective Vinyl Tap 215, of which they are also a member. Both a digital and vinyl selector, they blend sounds to liberate the minds, bodies, and souls of freedom-loving people everywhere.
